Karakteristik dan hubungan nilai tear break up time dengan umur dan jenis kelamin pelayanan kesehatan desa Tianyar maret 2015

Abstract

Sindrom mata kering terjadi akibat kualitas lapisan air mata yang buruk dan dapat terjadi pada semua kelompok umur. Tear breakup time (TBUT) merupakan metode yang sering digunakan dalam uji stabilitas lapisan air mata yang penting dalam penegakkan diagnosis sindrom mata kering (SMK). Nilai TBUT pada populasi daerah Bali berdasarkan umur dan jenis kelamin belum pernah dilaporkan. Penelitian deskriptif observasional analisis berbasis populasi dengan pendekatan studi potong lintang yang melibatkan 94 pasien (188 mata) yang datang ke pelayanan kesehatan di Desa Tianyar Kecamatan Kubu Kabupaten Karangasem tanggal 23 Maret 2015. Data karakteristik subyek dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hubungan umur dan jenis kelamin terhadap nilai TBUT diuji dengan menggunakan analisis multivariat. Subyek penelitian berjumlah 94 orang terbagi atas 45 (47,9%) pria dan 49 (52,1%) wanita. Rerata umur subyek adalah 46 (SD12,1) tahun. Nilai TBUT dari semua subyek bervariasi dari 1,45–7,24 detik untuk mata kanan dan 1,45-8,03 detik untuk mata kiri. Nilai median TBUT pada pria 5,40 detik untuk mata kanan dan 5,42 detik untuk mata kiri. Nilai median TBUT pada wanita 5,35 detik pada mata kanan dan 5,33 detik pada mata kiri. Analisis multivariat menunjukkan nilai median TBUT menurun sejalan dengan umur pada kedua kelompok jenis kelamin dan lebih rendah pada jenis kelamin wanita pada masing-masing kelompok umur. Nilai TBUT penduduk Tianyar berada di bawah cutoff value nilai normal TBUT, lebih rendah pada jenis kelamin wanita dan menurun sejalan dengan peningkatan umur pada kedua jenis kelamin.


Dry eyes are a result of the poor quality of the tear layers and it occurs on people of all ages. Tear breakup time (TBUT) is the most common test that can be used for tear stability measurement which is important to diagnose dry eye syndrome. No TBUT value in Bali population with consideration of gender and age reported yet. This descriptive population-based analytical cross sectional study involving 94 patients (188 eyes) who came to ophthalmology examination on March 23rd 2015 at Tianyar, Kubu, Karangasem. Characteristics of the subject’s data was analyzed descriptively, and shown as frequency, percentage, median, mean and deviation standard. Correlation of TBUT with age and gender was tested with multivariate analysis. TBUT measurement was done on 94 subjects, 45 (47. 9%) males and 49 (52.1%) females. The results showed on the TBUT vary from 1.45- 7.24 seconds on right eye and from 1.45- 8.03 seconds on left eye. Median TBUT value on male subjects was 5.40 seconds the right eye and 5.42 seconds on the left eye. Median TBUT value on female subjects was 5.35 seconds on the right eye and 5.33 seconds on the left eye. TBUT was found to decline with age. Multivariate analysis showed that the TBUT of both group of gender decreases with age significantly.TBUT of Tianyar people is less than 10 s. It was found TBUT of both group significantly decreases with age and lower in female.
