Genital herpes is a genital infection cause by herpes simplex virus (HSV). There are two type of HSV namely HSV-1 and HSV-2. Herpes simplex virus 2 infection with extragenital lesion are rare and common occur in opportunistic infections. The development of extragenital lesions during the couse of infection is a complication of primary genital herpes. Genital herpes is one of the opportunistic infection in HIV or acgquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Clinical manifestation of primary genital hespes include vesicle, erosions, shallow ulcers in group with an erythematous base, itching, pain preceded by prodromal symptoms. Genital herpes in pregnancy can cause abortion, premature birth, intrauterine growth retardation, intrauterine infection and neonatal infection. Reported a case of primary genital herpes with extragenital lesions in third trimester of pregnancy with stage I HIV who were therapy with acyclovir and well responds to therapy.
