Pengobatan gabapentin terhadap Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN)



Abstract

Pendahuluan: Terapi untuk PHN mencakup mencegah adanya infeksi herpes zoster, yang dapat dilakukan dengan vaksinasi atau pengobatan dengan antivirus dan terapi spesi k untuk mengatasi nyeri pada PHN. Salah satu modalitas terapi yang sering digunakan dalam penatalaksanaan PHN adalah gabapentin. Gabapentin termasuk dalam kelompok obat anti epilepsi yang bekerja dengan menurun hipereksitabilitas saraf yang membuat obat tersebut memiliki keefektifan pada kasus-kasus nyeri neuropatik.

Bahan dan Metode: Metode yang digunakan adalah systematic review. Kriteria inklusi adalah penelitian clinical trial menggunakan gabapentin pada terapi PHN yang dipublikasi dari tahun 2000-2018. Naskah dikumpulkan dari Google Scholar, PubMed, dan Cochrane Library.

Hasil: Di dapatkan 5 naskah yang sesuai kriteria inklusi. Dari hasil penelitian-penelitian tentang pengobatan PHN tersebut, gabapentin memiliki efikasi yang sangat baik jika dibandingkan dengan placebo. Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan jika gabapentin dibandingkan dengan cryoanalgesia, walaupun gabapentin memiliki efikasi sedikit lebih baik (89,6% berbanding 86%).

Simpulan: Gabapentin merupakan pengobatan yang baik dan memiliki peran penting untuk pengobatan PHN

 

Background: Therapy for PHN includes preventing the presence of herpes zoster infection, which can be done by vaccination or treatment with antiviral drugs and speci c therapies to treat pain in PHN. One therapeutic modality that is often used in the management of PHN is Gabapentin. Gabapentin belongs to the group of antiepileptic drugs that works by decreasing neural hyperexcitability which makes the drug e ective in cases of neuropathic pain.

Method: The method used is a systematic review. The inclusion criterion is clinical trial research using gabapentin in response to PHN published from 2000-2018. Manuscripts are collected from Google Scholar, PubMed, and the Cochrane Library.

Results: There were 5 texts that matched the inclusion criteria. From the results of studies on PHN treatment, gabapentin has very good e cacy compared to placebo. There was no signi cant di erence if gabapentin was compared with cryoanalgesia, although gabapentin had a slightly better e cacy (89.6% versus 86%).

Conclusion: Gabapentin is a good treatment and has an important role for PHN treatment
